EXPRESSION WITH MANY FACETS
As a family run business, it is clear to us that we have only a small impact on climate change, but we also know that with small actions we can make a difference. We are convinced that by doing our best and putting things into action, we will leave a better and healthier planet to future generations. We believe that we have this responsibility towards our descendants, as well as towards nature.
sustainable agriculture
Organic wines - Madreterra
The wines from our Madreterra line (translated as Mother Earth) reflect the diversified and authentic nature of Sicily, with a totally sustainable and organic cultivation. Thanks to the geographical location and excellent soil conditions, sustainability was emphasized not only in the vineyards, but also in the packaging; all materials used are 100% recyclable and the glass bottle weighs only 395 grams, which results in lower CO2 emissions than traditional bottles.
Vineyards – Management
Not only in vineyards where we cultivate organic wines also in the traditional ones, we pay great attention to use sustainable agricultural techniques that are compatible with the protection of the natural environment, completely glyphosate free. For a sustainable treatment process, we use less fertilizers and we plant grasses wherever possible. We target interventions based on weather forecasts, limiting the environmental impact.
sustainable packaging - production
- Bottles: Use of light-weight glass (lvg) and recycled glass
- Box: made of 79 % of recycled paper
- Natural cork: made of renewable plant product (cork oak)
- Synthetic cork: made of sugar can
- Reduce energy and water consumption as well as packaging waste during production process
sustainable recycling
Duales System - support for our German customers
On request, we can take over the responsibility that our German customers have towards packaging, which is subject to system participation, in accordance with German packaging regulation. With this service, we make our customers' work easier and ensure that our packaging is properly disposed of and recycled.
sustainable logistics
Transport Vineyards - Winery
All wines are bottled in the winery in northern Italy (Piedmont). The advantage is that only bulk wine must be transported from the south, which, in contrast to the transport of bottled wines, has a significantly lower CO2 footprint. In addition, the bulk wine is transported almost exclusively by sea with even lower CO2 emissions.
Transport Winery - Customers
The location of the warehouse in northern Italy was consciously chosen. Over 80% of our customers are based in northern and eastern Europe. This position makes it possible for our customers to choose intermodal freight transport via railway to limit CO2 emissions as much as possible.
sustainable quality and ethic
BRCGS, safety for clients and employees:
BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety is an important certification that measures the capability to consistently meet customers’ expectations of food safety and quality while reducing costs of supply chain management. One important aspect is the traceability of every single bottle. Another important pillar of the certification is to ensure the security of every employee: in the vineyards, in the production site, in the wine cellar and in the offices. The BRCGS Global Standard is a synonym on one hand of quality of the products and on the other hand of a good and healthy working environment.
social sustainability

Plan has no religious or political affiliations.
